1970 Grand Sport..?

Post by UnionHillGuy »

I purchased the bike in 2010 from someone who had got it at a bike fair about that year. It appears to be a 1970 Grand Tour. I have an old mountain bike and this was my return to 10 speeds since Schwinn Varsity days in 1976. The wheels are from a thrown away Fuji 12 speed but I have the French steel wheels. I had problems getting the crank pins in right, but I found a bike shop, Jerry's Bike Shop in Topeka, Kansas that was able to do them right. I will be putting some new tires and trying to do a little regular road riding exercise for a New Year's resolution.

Picked this one up from a Craigslist add. Spent a far percentage of its life stored in a barn. Cost me $100 for bike. Needed to replace broken frt derailleur. Beyond that I think everything but the tires are original.
