Sorry guys its finished for Gitane at Machecoul. Cycleurope put the site in "chapter 11" and in march a new group has put together a company to market assembled bikes under the name of Nakamura.
Gitane is not dead but all built in same factory as Peugeot etc in Romilly-sur-Seine. I have a graphic designer who will be at Peugeot this summer helping out doing the Stickers for the 2014 model year.

Ah great , nakamura owned by Suzuki. I was thinking Chinese but I think its Japanese. Doesn't matter tho , 
another company goes down because of the Asian invasion. I'm all in favor of starting a trade war. Enough is enough . Slap import taxes so high it makes there head spin. But its hard to compete with slave labor. End rant , where my morning coffee? Sigh
