Stephan,
I've read that about the front ends but not ridden one of the latest machines to feel it for myself, thanks.
The Alibaba website is testament to cheap carbon machines - http://tinyurl.com/28nzd86 It's definitely a good idea if one can make additional revenue from an existing mould. I heard somewhere that carbon now is, or is fast becoming, one of the cheapest materials to manufacture from. I don't have any further info. on that point but the site above certainly goes a long way to suggesting it.
I too like the look of the Gitanes. They're very stylish machines.

I'd go for a classic metallic blue with white or yellow lettering.Wisey wrote: I'm still not fussed on the paint. The red is a bit too red, and the plain black is a boring as every other black bike on the market.
How about a nice subtle shade of "Bumble Bee"?![]()
Or at lease a plain blue so we can dress it up with yellow saddles and bar tape.

Gitane 2011 from Velo & Oxygen.
It seems that the gitane.com website is gone. I get redirected here.
Check out the online catalogue: http://catalogue.velo-oxygen.fr/
Check out The One on Page 84.
Also see the retro font used on ladies bikes on Page 94.
