I get numerous emails from people looking for parts or sources for old bicycles. Here is a great place to start looking for both. Quite frankly, I get most of my vintage parts on ebay...very few of them come from shops that sell vintage parts, as I find the prices better on ebay (generally), and have had great luck finding quality parts there.
Search for Gitane bicycles in France:

Ebay - probably the best place to find used Gitane bicycles and parts for them. Be sure to check in France and other European countries:
